Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Asad Qaiser has claimed that his party would form government in December with a "simple majority".

Qaiser made the claim on the Geo News talk show, "Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath".

During the interview, the PTI stalwart expressed hope that the embattled party would have positive circumstances to form a government after securing a ‘magic number’ until the end of the year.

“I hope the situation [for the party] will improve by December, and I believe that we will get enough seats [in the National Assembly] to form a government,” he said.

Qaiser signalled at the party’s consideration over the karmic reaction of the ‘no-confidence motion’ against the incumbent Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

“Right now, our numbers [in the lower house] are not enough, after achieving the required number we would go towards a no-trust move against the incumbent premier,” Qaiser added.

"After getting into power, we will review our numbers. We would try to get a fresh mandate afterward."

However, the former NA speaker said the government was using tactics to halt the implementation of the apex court verdict on reserve seats.

He also hoped that the court verdict on the February 8 elections' petition would be in PTI’s favour and that real successful candidates would be declared victorious in accordance with form 45.

Qaiser termed the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Chief Election Commission (CEC), Sikandar Sultan Raja, responsible for the political turmoil, saying free and fair elections are the only remedy to pull Pakistan out of the crisis.

Discussing the ongoing protest and hunger strike, he said the peaceful protest under the constitutional limits will continue to convey the message to the masses.

“Hunger strike helps us promote our point of view.  It is a very effective way across the globe to register protests. We are organising more protests and rallies in the coming days," the PTI leader added.

PTI leaders and MNAs went on a 4-hour hunger strike to protest against the arrest of party founder Imran Khan.
