Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) suspended the basic membership of renowned singer Salman Ahmed over sharing posts against former prime minister Imran Khan on social media.
The official notice issued by PTI chairman Barrister Gohar Khan stated that the singer posted 'provocative' content on social media against Imran Khan and his family.
It added that Salman Ahmed continued to create discord among the party leadership and workers through his social media statements.
Additionally, the party distanced itself from Salman Ahmed’s statements. He is prohibited from using the name of PTI in the future.
On November 21, before the PTI’s march to Islamabad, he shared a post on X in which he called Imran Khan’s spouse, Bushra Bibi, “corrupt and greedy”, and claimed that “Farah Gogi and Gen Faiz were a constant source of embarrassment for Imran Khan, who did not enter politics to enrich himself.”
