Sher Afzal Marwat joined PTI for his publicity: Hamid Khan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) senior leader Hamid Khan came down hard on outspoken party leader Sher Afzal Marwat, whose membership was suspended by the party.

Talking to a private news channel, the PTI stalwart claimed that Marwat had joined the party for his own sake.

Imran Khan's close aide alleged that Marwat attempted to damage the party's reputation by making a statement against his opponents within the party.

He further said that PTI leadership "sidelined those who were trying to harm the party's image".

"He [Marwat] joined the party for his own sake and publicity, and he damaged the party's reputation by making false statements," PTI founder's lawyer maintained.

He further said Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi's imprisonments were "promoting differences among the party members". 

"Marwat had wrongly interpreted the direction of the party founder. Some people do this for their promotion," Khan added.

“[...] Nawaz Sharif, Shehbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, Aun Chaudhary and several others from the top brass of Pakistani politics were defeated [in the Feb 8 elections], and everything will be crystal clear after fair counting [of the votes]."

He also slammed Fawad Chaudhary for leaving the party at the difficult times following May 9, 2023 riots.

“Fawad Chaudhary is planted man forever, he was the founding member of the party, but he, Amir Kyani, and Imran Ismail gathered with those who made Istekham-e-Pakistan Party (IPP)."

However, Hamid Khan prevented himself from talking about JUI-F chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman.
