Mohammad Haseeb Jamali has been elected president of the Sindh High Court Bar Association (SHCBA) for the 2025–26 term following the annual elections held on Saturday.
Announcing the results, election commissioner Zulfiqar Ali Khan Jalbani said Jamali received 2,679 votes, edging out former SHCBA president Mohammad Sarfaraz Ali Metlo, who secured 2,604. The third candidate, Abdul Wahab Baloch, finished with 44 votes.
In a post on X, senior lawyer Salahuddin Ahmed said that Haseeb Jamali had lost to Sarfaraz Metlo by 700 votes last year. "This time, his campaign message was very simple: “No to the 26th and 27th amendments!” he added.
He said that despite promises of plots and grants, the lawyers of Sindh elected him as the High Court Bar president.
