Telecom companies increase prices of mobile call, data packages in Pakistan

Telecom operators in Pakistan have increased the prices of a range of mobile call and data packages.
The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has released details of 15 hybrid and data-only packages, under which tariff adjustments of up to 33% have been approved.
According to the PTA, the prices of monthly call and data packages have increased by as much as PKR 500, while 15-day call and data packages have become up to PKR 300 more expensive.
The regulator also stated that weekly hybrid packages have seen price increases of up to PKR 130, while three-day mobile packages have become up to PKR 21 more expensive.
Similarly, the prices of two-day mobile packages have increased by up to PKR 20, while one-day hybrid packages have risen by PKR 5.
The PTA said the updated tariffs for hybrid and data-only packages have been published on its website, including comprehensive details on each package's quarterly pricing, validity period, and available services.
The authority added that the published information will enable consumers to compare packages offered by different mobile operators more easily.
It reiterated that promoting transparency in the telecommunications sector and protecting consumer interests remain its top priorities.
