A cleric organised a Mehndi function at a madressah in Okara. A video of the event was shared on social media, showing the cleric and his accomplices dancing with female dancers, prompting the police to book them under the Punjab Sound System Act 2015.

The madressah also houses a mosque on top.

The case was registered on the complaint of Sub-inspector Naimat Ali, who watched the video on social media.

The FIR stated that the cleric, identified as Qari Ashique, and eight to ten unknown individuals were found lewdly dancing with two female dancers to "vulgar songs" on a loudspeaker.
