The Islamabad district administration has decided to initiate a crackdown on individuals involved in wall chalking, with plans to register cases against them.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon has ordered stringent action against anyone participating in wall-chalking, whether for business or political purposes. He also instructed the relevant authorities to eliminate wall chalking across the city in order to restore the pristine appearance of "Islamabad the Beautiful."

A spokesperson for the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration mentioned that First Information Reports (FIRs) will be filed against those advertising on walls.

“Teams have been formed to inspect and remove wall chalking throughout the city, with Assistant Commissioners (ACs) leading the teams, and secretaries of Union Councils will also be involved,” the spokesperson added.

He further stated that the Capital Development Authority (CDA) will also collaborate on this effort.

Additionally, the deputy commissioner urged residents to report instances of wall chalking to the authorities.

He said that removing wall chalking will help restore the city's natural beauty.

It's worth noting that in 2016, then-Senator Azam Khan Swati launched an initiative to eliminate wall chalking and even introduced a bill in parliament to address the issue.
