A Karachi East court sentenced a man to six years in prison for sending explicit photos of a woman to her fiancé. The accused, identified as Anas, was arrested in September 2021 following a complaint filed by the victim.

 In addition to the prison sentence, the court imposed a fine of Rs 90,000. The victim stated that she had been in a relationship with Anas for four years.

During their relationship, she had sent explicit photos to him at his request.

When her family arranged her marriage to another man, Anas sent these photos to her fiance.  

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him following the complaint. 

Pakistan has enacted several laws to combat cybercrime, and the FIA has been particularly active in swiftly addressing such cases.

Under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, specifically sections 20, 21, and 24, the offenses include the dissemination of malicious content and cyberstalking through the use of an information system to harass the victim.
