A female student has approached a consumer court in Karachi seeking damages of Rs10 million from an online ride-hailing company, alleging that its driver behaved inappropriately during a trip.
The woman has filed a damages claim worth Rs10 million and has also demanded a formal written apology from the company.
The complainant stated that she booked a ride through the company’s mobile application in August 2025. During the journey, the driver allegedly engaged in indecent and criminal behavior, she alleged, adding that he asked her to record videos and then began removing his trousers inside the car.

The woman said she was forced to jump out of the moving vehicle to protect herself. She later reported the incident to the company’s customer support and also lodged a complaint at the New Town police station.
However, she alleged that the company failed to take any remedial action or respond to her complaint. The petitioner argued that the company’s lack of proper verification and training procedures for drivers was a serious lapse.
The court has issued a notice to the defendant company, directing it to submit its response.
