Man who raped teenager in Itikaf arrested by Muzaffargarh police

Police on Thursday arrested a man suspected of raping a 13-year-old boy during his observance of Iitkaf in Muzaffargarh.

A spokesperson for the Muzaffargarh Police confirmed the arrest, stating that the suspect was arrested from Kot Addu district within 24 hours of the registration of the case.

The FIR was lodged by the victim's father under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The mosque's Imam, who informed the father of the teen about the incident, stated that he was threatened with serious consequences by the 28-year-old suspect.

According to him, the perpetrator took the young boy to a secluded place, raped him in the washroom, and fled the mosque after the incident.

The 13-year-old boy was also memorising the Holy Quran at the mosque.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for medical examination. The Station House Officer (SHO) Shahid Rizwan Mahuta assured that the suspect would be arrested soon.
