Newborn found dead after being thrown from high-rise building in Karachi

KARACHI, August 12: An infant’s body has been found dead after being thrown from the upper floor of a 20-storey building located in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal.

As per the information received, the unfortunate event occurred in Gulshan-e-Iqbal 13-D. The body of the newborn was found at the backside of the building after cleaning.

The body reportedly belongs to the age of three to four days.

In light of initial findings, it is revealed that the infant was thrown from one of the upper floors of the building, said police.

Some amount of blood and other evidences were recovered from several floors of the building that led police to the conclusion that the newborn was thrown from the upper floor.

Residents of the flats inside the building are being questioned in connection with the probe.

The body of the newborn has been transferred to a welfare agency while a case will also be filed against this incident.
