Sindh's Minister for Sports, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar, criticized national cricketers, questioning how they can perform on the field if they continue consuming traditional dishes like Halwa Puri, Nihari, and Haleem.

While addressing a cricket tournament ceremony in Karachi, Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar emphasized the importance of focusing on diet and nutrition.

Expressing disappointment over the national team's performance in the Champions Trophy, he stated that the entire nation was let down as the team neither reached the final nor brought the final to Pakistan.

The provincial minister stressed the need for extensive effort to improve the national cricket team.

Although cricket does not fall under his jurisdiction, he expressed his determination to make efforts for the players. "Fitness is everything for athletes," he added.

Mahar also highlighted the transformation of Karachi's Korangi district, where land grabbing and illegal encroachments once prevailed.

He expressed satisfaction in witnessing sports events taking place in the area and announced that the Sindh government would organize various sports events, including cricket, in Korangi next year.

Furthermore, he announced the establishment of the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Cricket Academy and a gym club in Korangi.
