PCB announces free Iftar for spectators during Champions Trophy semi-final

In a heartwarming gesture, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced it will provide free Iftar boxes to spectators attending the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final at Gaddafi Stadium on March 5. 

This thoughful initiative aims to allow fans to comfortably observe their Ramadan fast while enjoying the highly anticipated cricket match between New Zealand and South Africa.

By simply presenting their match ticket, spectators can receive a complimentary Iftar box containing dates, juice, and a mini pizza. This move is expected to enhance the match day experience, making it a memorable event for fans.

It's worth noting that the PCB's initiative came after Pakistan's early exit from the tournament, which resulted in a decline in fan interest in the home-hosted event. However, this gesture was likely to boost attendance and enthusiasm for the semi-final match.

Besides free Iftar the spectators would have opportunity to purchase a variety of food and beverages from stalls inside the stadium. 

The match is set to begin at 2:00 pm, and Iftar is scheduled for 6:05 PM in Lahore. 

Earlier the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had distributed free iftar boxes among the fasting spectators during the ICC Champions Trophy matches between India and New Zealand at Dubai stadium.

In the spirit of Ramadan, cricket fans received a special Iftar distribution at the stadium, ensuring that spectators get an uninterrupted tournament experience. The distribution took place just before Iftar time in all non-hospitality areas.
