PCB finalises schedule for Champions Trophy 2025 opening events: report

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has formally announced the schedule for the forthcoming Champions Trophy opening ceremonies. PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, has granted final approval for all planned activities, ensuring that the tournament will be showcased with both grandeur and enthusiasm.
As per the schedule, the opening ceremony is set to occur at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 7, with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif anticipated to serve as the chief guest.
The celebrations will extend to another opening event at the National Stadium in Karachi, planned for February 11, where former President Asif Ali Zardari is expected to be the special guest.
The grand inauguration of the Champions Trophy will take place at Hazuri Bagh in Lahore on February 16.

The event will be attended by notable national figures, distinguished cricketers, and ICC officials, heralding the commencement of what is expected to be an exhilarating tournament.
The Champions Trophy 2025 tournament is scheduled to officially commence on February 19, marking Pakistan's first hosting of the ICC event in 29 years.
As the reigning champions, Pakistan aims to defend their title, having secured the esteemed trophy in 2017 under the captaincy of Sarfaraz Ahmed.
