Under the new act, child marriage has been declared a non-bailable offence, and all police stations have been directed to file FIR against violators. Violators may face imprisonment and heavy fines.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 on the convict.

The police registered FIR under Sections 3 and 5 of the Sindh Child Marriage Restraint Act.
