A team, consisting of rescuers from Myanmar and Turkey successfully pulled the man to safety after a gruelling nine-hour operation.

The tremor, which originated northwest of Sagaing, was followed by a 6.4-magnitude aftershock, causing widespread destruction.

The tremors affected Bangkok at 1:30 pm local time, causing panic among residents as alarms sounded and buildings visibly shook.

Previous arrests centered on the northern border with China, and it's the first time the Myanmar junta has announced mass arrests for scams in Yangon.
