An Afghan national brought to the United States (US) under Joe Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” programme has been arrested in Texas over terror threat.
This arrest was made a day before the attack on National Guard members in Washington, authorities revealed on Saturday.
According to Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of the Department of Homeland Security, the suspect, Mohammad Dawood Alokozay, posted a TikTok video in which he appeared to be assembling what he implied was an explosive device.
McLaughlin said that the video indicated that the Fort Worth area was the intended target.
Just one day before the Terrorist attack against our @NationalGuard, another Afghan national who was paroled into the United States under Biden’s Operation Allies Welcome was arrested for threatening to blow up a building in Fort Worth.

Alokozay was taken into custody on Tuesday by officers from the Texas Department of Public Safety and the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. He has been charged with making "terroristic threats".
His arrest occurred less than a day before another Afghan national, Rahmanullah Lakanwal, allegedly opened fire on two members of the US National Guard during a routine patrol in Washington, critically injuring both.
Lakanwal, who had arrived in the United States more than a year ago, was apprehended shortly after the shooting, which officials described as a deliberate act of terrorism.
