US President Donald Trump has called on Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords, agreements aimed at normalising diplomatic relations with Israel, saying such steps are essential for establishing peace in the region.
“Now that Iran’s nuclear weapons stockpile has been completely eliminated, it is very important to me that all Middle Eastern countries join the Abraham Accords,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.
The Abraham Accords, negotiated during Trump’s first term, saw three Muslim-majority nations normalise relations with Israel through US mediation.
In 2020, Trump brokered the initial Abraham Accords, which led to formal diplomatic relations between Israel and several Arab states, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, and Morocco.

However, efforts to expand the agreement have been hindered by rising casualties and worsening humanitarian conditions in Gaza.

The ongoing war in Gaza has drawn global condemnation, with Canada, France, and Britain recently announcing their intention to recognize an independent Palestinian state.
As per reports, the Trump administration is also exploring the inclusion of Azerbaijan and certain Central Asian allies in the accords to strengthen their existing ties with Israel.
