Despite the reduction in the mango crops, the export of the king of fruits touched $40.6 million in 2024, according to a report issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Friday.

The report was shared by the commerce ministry during the session of the National Assembly.

The figures revealed that Pakistan exported mangoes to 42 countries by the end of July 2024.

According to the statistics, England was a top importer of Pakistani mangoes, which received a consignment of $13.2 million, followed by the US and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), which imported mangoes of $9.2 million, cumulatively.

Pakistan's export of mangoes to neighbourly Afghanistan reached $2.2 million, while Saudi Arabia spent $1.3 million on Pakistani mangoes.

Similarly, the summer fruit's consignment reached Oman, which generated $1.7 million.

The country earned $8.9 million from Kazakhstan, $1.9 million from Germany, and $4.4 million from other countries.

Pakistan managed to export 13,681 metric tonnes of mangoes in an ongoing fiscal year.

Earlier in May, the All Pakistan Fruit and Vegetable Exporters Association (APFVEA) claimed that the country witnessed a decline in mango crops and failed to achieve the target that was estimated for this summer.

APFVEA officials had attributed the decline to environmental change, which has been seriously impacting agriculture.
