Federal government spokesperson for Sindh Raja Khaleeq Ansari has announced that work on the Green Line project in Karachi will resume soon, terming it a positive development for the city’s residents.

Speaking to Geo News, Ansari said that discussions regarding the Green Line were held during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, where issues highlighted by the local government were reviewed. “All incomplete works identified by the municipal authorities will now be completed,” he added.

The spokesperson said the Green Line project, which faced a delay of about one month, is now expected to be completed by September 2026. He further revealed that new stations will be built near Capri Cinema, Plaza, and Jama Cloth, with the project’s final stop also located close to Jama Cloth.

Ansari also announced that a state-of-the-art station at Karachi Cantt will be inaugurated on October 31, describing it as a modern facility comparable to an airport terminal.

He reaffirmed the federal government’s willingness to assist with ongoing projects in Karachi, adding that only maintenance work is being carried out on the Lyari Expressway, which will continue to operate as usual.
