Tea is a beloved drink in many Pakistani households, and it also has a role in relieving headaches.
According to experts, tea, usally prepared with milk, can help with hydration, which is essential in preventing dehydration-induced headaches.
Dr Ruhi Pirzada, a senior physician, notes that while there is no direct evidence linking tea consumption to headache treatment, tea can help with hydration, which can reduce headache pain.
Dr Jyoti Bala Sharma, director of neurology at Fortis Hospital in India's Jaipur, agrees, stating that tea can also help relieve headaches caused by sinusitis by unclogging a stuffy nose.
Additionally, black tea contains caffeine, which can constrict blood vessels and reduce headache symptoms, especially for caffeine addicts.
Overall, while tea may not directly cure headaches, it offers several benefits that can help alleviate the pain.
However, the effectiveness of tea in reducing headaches varies from person to person, experts added.
It is essential to note the caffeine content in tea, with a cup (150 ml) containing 30 to 65 mg.
