ANP politician Maulana Khan Zeb shot dead in Bajaur

Awami National Party (ANP) leader Maulana Khan Zeb and one other person were killed after unidentified gunmen opened fire near the Tehsil Khar headquarters in Bajaur on Tuesday.
According to District Police Officer (DPO) Waqas Rafiq, three of Maulana Khan Zeb’s associates sustained injuries in the attack and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Maulana Khan Zeb was actively mobilising support for a peace march scheduled for July 13. He served as the head of the ANP’s Ulema Council and was also a former candidate for the National Assembly.
Earlier, at least five people, including an assistant commissioner, were martyred and 11 others injured in a deadly bomb blast targeting the AC’s vehicle in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur district, according to police officials.
Inspector General (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, confirmed that the blast was a targeted attack on the vehicle of the Assistant Commissioner.
