The postmortem of actress and model Humaira Asghar, whose decomposed body was discovered in a flat in Karachi’s Defence Phase 6, has been completed. Police contacted Asghar's family to inform them that they could collect her body, but they reportedly declined.
The family informed police that they had severed ties with Humaira some time ago and no longer had a connection with her.
According to SSP South Mahzoor Ali, Humaira's father refused to come to Karachi to collect her body, saying that he had cut off contact with her two years ago. He hasn't contacted the police since.
Humaira, originally from Lahore, had been living alone in the flat since 2018. Police stated that the apartment was rented, and the owner had filed a legal case against her over non-payment of rent since early 2024.
The police arrived to vacate the flat on a court order when they found the door locked. Upon forcibly entering the premises, they discovered her body lying inside a room.
Following the discovery, the court bailiff sealed the apartment, and police launched a comprehensive investigation, examining multiple aspects of the case. The body has since been shifted to a morgue for further examination.

Neighbors told police that Humaira Asghar largely kept to herself and had minimal interaction with other residents in the building.
She had appeared in the first season of the Pakistani reality show Tamasha Ghar.
Several celebrities have expressed sorrow over her untimely and lonely death, raising concerns over how no one, friends or family, checked on her for days despite her living alone. Many described the incident as a tragic reflection of growing emotional isolation in society.
