Veteran actress Bushra Ansari urged people not to criticise the children of late actress Ayesha Khan, who was found dead in her apartment, where she had been living alone.

Her remains were discovered a week after her death, sparking public outcry and criticism that her children had abandoned her.

In a video statement, Bushra Ansari addressed the situation, clarifying that Ayesha Khan had chosen to live in Pakistan of her own free will, even though her children were settled abroad.

Recalling a conversation from five to six years ago, Ansari said, the Bisaat e Dil actress told her that her children were living in Singapore and other countries.

"I visit them, and they ask me to stay with them, but I don't feel like going because they have their own routine,” Ayesha had told her.

When asked about financial support, Buhra said Ayesha expressed satisfaction, stating that her children provide for her financially.

Bushra Ansari added that Ayesha enjoyed her life in Pakistan, saying, “She told me, ‘I have my friends here, I read books, listen to music, have good neighbours who care for me, and a maid with whom I cook food. I enjoy all of this.’”

Ansari emphasised that she personally heard these statements from Ayesha and was not repeating hearsay. “Truth is not always what it appears to be,” she said, urging people to stop making assumptions based on movies or concepts of karma.

She also expressed concern over criticisms, noting, “It’s sad. She had five or six siblings; they should have been more aware of her condition.”

Bushra concluded by urging the public not to further upset Ayesha’s children, stating, “They are already deeply distressed by the incident.”
