Hina Javed murder: Servant confesses to 'killing Rawalpindi woman after being promised Rs100,000 by husband'

A DNA test of key suspects in the Hina Javed murder case has been completed at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) in Lahore, as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.

Samples of Hina’s husband, father-in-law and servant Zeeshan were collected and tested in the presence of her brother, Fahad Javed, according to a media report. During the investigation, police said, Zeeshan confessed to killing Hina and alleged that her husband had promised him Rs100,000 for the murder.

However, prime suspect Faisal Asghar and his father have denied the allegations. Rawalpindi police returned to the city after completing the DNA testing process in Lahore.

Earlier, Hina’s post-mortem examination revealed that she suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured neck bone and injuries to her ribs and hip bone. Blood was also found around her heart.
The post-mortem was conducted by Dr Maria Khalid about 12 hours after Hina’s death. Her DNA samples were also collected and sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.

The post-mortem report said the exact cause of death could not initially be determined and that various samples had been sent for forensic examination to establish the cause.

According to the report, Hina was allegedly hanged by her husband, although the final cause of death will be determined after the forensic reports are received.

Police said the forensic samples collected during the post-mortem were handed over to Lady Constable Rafia Tabassum.

A murder case was registered at the Civil Lines police station on the complaint of Hina’s brother, Fahad Javed.
