Court grants bail to YouTuber's wife Aroob Jatoi in gambling case

A Lahore court on Wednesday granted interim pre-arrest bail to Aroob Jatoi, wife of YouTuber Saadur Rehman, popularly known as Ducky Bhai, in a case pertaining to alleged promotion of gambling.

The Additional Sessions Judge restrained the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) from arresting Aroob Jatoi till August 30 and directed her to join the investigation.

The judge directed the investigating officer to submit a progress report about the case on the next date of hearing.

The court approved her pre-arrest bail after hearing arguments from her lawyers.

A local court in Lahore on August 19 extended the YouTuber's physical remand after he completed an initial two-day physical remand. Investigating officer Shoaib Riaz had requested a 28-day remand, claiming the accused is allegedly part of an international gambling network.

After hearing the arguments from both sides, the court approved the four-day extension, with Ducky Bhai set to be presented in court again once the remand period ends.

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) arrested Ducky Bhai on August 17 at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport. He is accused of promoting several unregistered gambling applications via his YouTube channel and social media accounts, causing financial losses to the public.
