The highly anticipated Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Hania Aamir, appears poised for release in Pakistani cinemas.
All three major censor boards, including federal, Punjab, and Sindh, have cleared the film for screening in local cinemas, according to media reports.
Actress Hania Aamir also generated buzz by sharing a promotional poster for Sardaar Ji 3 on her Instagram story, confirming its countrywide release.
“See you :)” she wrote in the caption, addressing her sizable fan base in both Pakistan and India.
The poster listed several prominent cinema chains, including Cinepax, Nueplex Cinemas (Karachi), Cue Cinemas (Lahore), and Centaurus Cineplex (Islamabad).
At least two major cinemas have confirmed plans to screen the film, one of the reports claimed.
It quoted Universal Cinemas Lahore as saying that Sardaar Ji 3's first screening is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. on Friday.
Centaurus Cineplex in Islamabad also confirmed its intention to show the film, with showtimes expected to be announced by evening. Both cinema chains have shared the film’s poster on their official social media accounts.
However, a representative of Nueplex Cinemas in Karachi said they have not received instructions to screen the film. “The ban on Indian films is still very much in place,” the representative was quoted as saying. “If we do get a notice to screen Sardaar Ji 3, we will announce it accordingly.”
Produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and Diljit Dosanjh, the film is a joint venture of White Hill Studios and Story Time Productions. As of now, none of the production companies have officially confirmed a Pakistani release via their platforms, which has led to some uncertainty.
Despite the lack of a formal announcement from the filmmakers, confirmations from cinemas suggest that Sardaar Ji 3 may still find its way into select Pakistani theaters.
