Model and actor Saheefa Jabbar Khattak recently voiced her frustration over the internet slowdown in Pakistan, stating that it has disrupted her personal time to unwind with entertainment on her phone, particularly in the bathroom.
Taking to Instagram, Saheefa highlighted the issue, complaining that Wi-Fi signals don’t reach the bathroom and that “4G refuses to load TikTok videos.”
She maintained that the lack of internet access has made her time “boring,” as she usually spends it scrolling through reels on social media apps.
In another post, Saheefa stressed that reliable internet access is a "basic right," calling the ongoing disruptions “unacceptable” for someone who considers herself a responsible citizen.
The Beti actor further clarified that she is uninterested in political developments, as she has learned “not to expect much.”
“I’m not asking for luxuries; I’m asking for what should be a given in any functioning society,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “It breaks my heart to say this, but I am deeply disappointed in the state of my country.”
Saheefa also lamented the plight of millions of Pakistanis who, despite having immense potential, are suffering due to systemic issues. She urged the government to prioritise the welfare of its citizens and restore their faith in "a system that feels broken."
The Log Kya Kahenge actor expressed frustration over being unable to connect with loved ones because of the connectivity issues, stating that this is not about convenience but about fundamental rights like “clean air, safety, and connectivity.”
The partial internet disruptions came amid the PTI protests in the capital, leaving people struggling to send or receive media on WhatsApp and other platforms.
Although authorities announced the restoration of internet services on Wednesday, many users are still facing issues with browsing and loading content on networking apps.
