“I was offered Fawad Khan’s role in Humsafar but I was busy,” reveals Shaan Shahid

Renowned Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid revealed that he was offered the role opposite Mahira Khan in the magnum opus drama Humsafar before Fawad Khan, but he was occupied with other work commitments.

“I was offered the role played by Fawad Khan in Humsafar, but I was busy with other work during that period,” he disclosed.

In a recent interview, Shaan Shahid emphasised the need for substantial improvement and growth in Pakistan’s entertainment industry.

When questioned about his absence from television, the Zarrar star maintained that he is waiting for an engaging script before committing to any projects.

He called for the creation of OTT platforms to cover diverse topics that may not be suitable for traditional television.

He opined that current TV content often features monotonous storylines and scripts, as industry professionals have limited time to develop well-thought-out projects amidst the race to produce dramas and achieve ratings and profits.

Shaan, who has consistently opposed Pakistani artists working in India, clarified that he has never stopped anyone from pursuing opportunities across the border, as everyone has their own approach to work.

He explained that his stance is influenced by his father's strong position on Indian-held Kashmir and the human rights violations occurring there.

He believes it would be inappropriate to dismiss his father's ideology by working in Bollywood.
