Hania Aamir, known for her impeccable on-screen presence and strong fan base across the border, has become the latest target of online trolling in the aftermath of the Pahalgam attack in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
Despite publicly condemning the tragic shooting at the tourist hotspot, where 26 people were killed and dozens injured, Hania’s nationality became a focal point for Indian trolls.
Earlier, Hania Aamir took to her Instagram story to share her heartfelt condolences with the grieving families, saying, "Tragedy anywhere is a tragedy for all of us. My heart is with the innocent lives affected by the recent events." She underscored the shared experience of loss, writing, "Grief speaks the same language. May we choose humanity, always."
Her recent Instagram post was flooded with obscene and hateful comments, with many users announcing they had unfollowed her.
The backlash appears to be rooted in rising nationalist sentiment, despite Hania’s expression of sympathy for the victims.
“I unfollowed after Pahalgam,” commented one Indian user. Another wrote, “Jai Hindustan... ready for revenge.”
Hania Aamir recently signed on to star in Sardaar Ji 3 alongside Indian music icon Diljit Dosanjh, with the film scheduled for release on June 27, 2025. Their warm interaction at Dosanjh’s London concert earlier this year had sparked excitement over renewed cross-border artistic collaboration.

However, the current political climate has cast a shadow over such efforts. Far-right groups in India have intensified their calls for boycotting Pakistani artists, putting upcoming joint projects under pressure.
This includes Abir Gulal, starring Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor, which is also facing backlash ahead of its May 9 release. Hania and Diljit’s collaboration, once celebrated by fans, is now being met with criticism, particularly from Indian social media users.
