Karachi court grants bail to YouTuber Rajab Butt

A Karachi court on Friday approved bail of YouTuber Rajab Butt in a case lodged in the port city, providing him relief after he surrendered before the court.

The additional district and sessions court (Central) ordered Rajab Butt to submit surety bonds worth Rs100,000 to secure the bail. The court heard the case after the YouTuber appeared following protective bail granted by the Islamabad High Court.

Rajab Butt had been declared an absconder in the present case lodged over allegedly hurting religious sentiments.

After hearing arguments, the sessions judge accepted his bail application and granted him interim relief.

Earlier, a Lahore sessions court granted interim pre-arrest bail to Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, also known as Nadeem Nani Wala, in a case pertaining to the alleged promotion of gambling applications.

That case was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi, who directed the accused to join the investigation and ordered that they should not be arrested until the next hearing. Both had approached the court seeking protection from arrest.

YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has also been named in the gambling-related case. He was arrested at Lahore airport on August 17 and was granted bail last month.
