Lollywood superstar Mahira Khan recently addressed the ongoing ban on Pakistani artists in India and shared her perspective on working in Bollywood amid heightened tensions between the two countries.
Currently in the US alongside Humayun Saeed to promote her upcoming film Love Guru, Mahira spoke during a fan meet-and-greet session where she was asked whether she would consider working in Bollywood again.
The Maula Jatt star took a thoughtful yet cautious stance, emphasising the importance of nurturing Pakistan's own entertainment industry.

“I don’t believe in cancel culture, boycotts, or bans,” she stated when referring to India’s prohibition on Pakistani aritists.
Mahira noted that such events often deepen one’s emotional connection to their homeland, referencing recent Indian military actions within Pakistani territory.
Despite the tensions, she chose not to take an aggressive position. Instead, she encouraged a forward-looking approach. “Let’s invest in us,” she said, calling for greater focus and support for Pakistan’s creative sectors.
A video of her remarks went viral on social media, sparking mixed reactions. While some applauded her diplomatic tone, others expressed disappointment, arguing that boycotts can sometimes be necessary to assert national dignity and take a clear stand.
