Renowned fashion designer Maria B strongly criticised an LGBTQ-themed program held in Lahore, stating that participants performed “satanic and obscene acts” aimed at promoting homosexuality.

An outspoken critic of LGBTQ representation, Maria B questioned the authorities for allowing such an event in the city. She claimed she received videos of the program, held in August 2025, from children who had attended it.

Taking to Instagram, the designer shared clips from the event, showing individuals in exaggerated outfits performing what was described as drag art, alongside acts she labeled as “open obscenity.”

Maria B alleged that the event was authorised by local authorities, stating, “Biological males performed this obscenity on stage.”

She further claimed the theme of the program carried satanic symbols, pointing to Urdu text written upside down and performers with a painted “third eye” on their faces, something she linked to the figure of Dajjal in Islamic eschatology.

“These clothes and performances were done in the name of art,” she said, while criticising the government’s cultural policy.

She compared the event to the film Joyland, which she argued also promoted homosexuality, yet was permitted to be released in Punjab.

According to Maria B, by allowing such events, the government was “following Israeli orders,” claiming it was an official attempt to promote the LGBT community in Pakistan.

She further stated, “They are all biological males from Qaum-e-Lut. Do parents in Lahore know that their children attended such an event? I received these videos from children who were shocked to see what they experienced.”

Concluding her remarks, Maria B vowed to continue speaking out against such programs despite criticism, stressing that her aim was to “make parents aware of the agenda being sold to their children.”
