Madiha Kazmi, whose heartwarming story of being married off by her son captured the internet's attention, revealed that her priority before remarrying was ensuring her children would be accepted by her husband.

Madiha, who spent 18 years as a single parent, said she had initially decided not to remarry. “When I got divorced, my children were too young, and I believed no one would accept a woman with children, which is why I never considered marrying again.”

However, when the opportunity arose, Madiha made it clear to her now-husband that acceptance of her children was non-negotiable

"It was my condition in that my partner had to accept my children," Madiha said.

Her wedding was a family affair, with her daughter Tooba finding a match for her and her son Abdul Ahad serving as a witness during the Nikkah ceremony.

Ahad initially hesitated to share the wedding videos and photos due to social pressure. However, encouraged by his friends, he eventually shared them online, where they received an overwhelmingly positive response.

"Nikah Khawan was delighted to see me as a witness at my mother’s marriage," Ahad recalled.

Speaking about his decision to post the video, he said, "At first, I was hesitant, but my friends encouraged me. When I finally shared it, the response was unbelievable. After just one day, I realized people were taking it very positively."

Madiha suggested to single parents that they should “take a chance and get married.”

Reflecting on her journey, she said, “I’ve spent my whole life for my children, and now they are happy for me. There was a time when I felt happy seeing my children, but now the time has come when my children feel happy for their mom.”
