Controversial TikToker Hareem Shah has made a surprising claim about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, saying that Oxford University nominated him for the position of chancellor, "although he was not interested in the role."

While speaking to a journalist in London, Shah said, “Imran Khan does not want to become the chancellor. Oxford University itself has chosen him for the position. Imran Khan is a bigger name than Oxford.”

She added that the PTI founder is currently incarcerated and “has no contact with the outside world.”

The controversial social media star maintained that great leaders, such as Benazir Bhutto and Imran Khan, studied at Oxford, both of whom are considered courageous leaders of Pakistan.

Hareem also shared her own aspirations, saying that while she could not become a doctor, she still hopes to pursue a PhD, adding, “I have a strong desire to attend Oxford University.”

However, contrary to TikToker's claims, Imran Khan submitted nomination papers in August to contest for the chancellorship of Oxford University through his London-based close aide, Sayed Zulfi Bukhari.

Elections for the chancellor will be held on October 28, with over 250,000 alumni and former staff members voting online. The new chancellor's tenure will last for a decade.

Imran Khan is an alumnus of Oxford University. He graduated in 1975 after studying philosophy, politics, and economics.

The 71-year-old politician is running against prominent UK politicians, including Tony Blair and Boris Johnson.

According to political analysts, Imran seeks to use the chancellorship to highlight his political struggles and build pressure on Pakistan's military establishment by being elected to one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
