Talha Anjum topples Atif Aslam on Spotify charts in Pakistan

Rapper Talha Anjum become the most-streamed local artist on Spotify Wrapped in 2024, dethroning the long-reigning Atif Aslam. Aslam, who had held the top spot for three consecutive years, slipped to third place this year.

Singer Umer secured the second position, while legendary Qawwali maestro Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and singer Talha Yunus claimed the fourth and fifth spots, respectively.

Other notable local artists who made it to the top streaming list include Abdul Hannan, AUR, Hasan Raheem, and Maanu.

On the international front, Indian singers dominated the charts. Arijit Singh, Pritam, Karan Aujla, Shubh, and Sidhu Moose Wala were among the most-streamed international artists.

Talha Anjum, Umair, and Atif Aslam followed closely, securing the sixth, ninth, and tenth positions, respectively.

Maanu and Annural Khalid's soulful track "Jhol" topped the charts as the most-streamed song by a Pakistani artist. Hasan Raheem, Umair, and Talwiinder's "Wishes" and AUR's "Tu Hai Kahan" were also among the top-streamed songs.

Annural Khalid was the most-streamed female artist in Pakistan, and she was also featured on Spotify's RADAR this year.

Other popular tracks included Aashir Wajahat, NAYEL, and Nehaal Naseem's "Sadqay," Abdul Hannan's "Bikhra" and "Iraaday," and Rovalio's songs. These hits highlight the rising popularity of young Pakistani musicians.

Among international tracks, Anuv Jain's "Husn" topped the charts, followed by "Jhol" and Jain's "Jo Tum Mere Ho" in third place.

Local albums that dominated the charts included Umair's "ROCKSTAR WITHOUT A GUITAR," Anjum's chart-topping "Open Letter," Imran Khan and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan's "Reformed," and Asim Azhar's "BEMATLAB."
