Treat yourself to Chicken Mushroom Puffs at iftar

All fasting Muslims eagerly await their iftar table, adorned with tempting dishes. One such delightful meal is creamy chicken and mushroom puff pastry, light and bursting with flavour.
This easy-to-make snack is prepared with mushrooms, chicken breast filet, and a creamy white sauce, all wrapped in a ready-made puff pastry.
Let's dive into the recipe!
Chicken breast fillet diced 500 gram
Mushrooms finely chopped 1 cup
Onion finely chopped 1 medium-sized
Garlic finely chopped 2 tsp
Salt and pepper to taste
Puff pastry 6 sheets
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp
Flour 2 tbsp
Milk 600 ml
Egg 1
Instructions:
Step 1:
Heat oil in a pan. Saute the diced chicken until cooked and set it aside for a moment.
Step 2:
While the chicken rests, Add thinly sliced onions and mushrooms to the same pan and cook them with salt and pepper until they soften.
Step 3:
Once the veggies are soft, put the chicken back in the pan and sprinkle in flour. Stir everything together until coated.
Step 4:
Slowly pour milk into the pan while stirring constantly. Keep adding milk until the mixture thickens into a creamy sauce. Geneorusly sprinkle pepper. Take the pan off the heat.
Step 5:
Preheat your oven. Unfold a sheet of puff pastry with paper on a baking sheet. Spoon the creamy chicken mixture in the center, leaving a 2cm border around the edge.
Press the edges of the pastry with a fork to seal the filling. Brush the top with beaten egg. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
