Veteran actress Ayesha Khan's seven-day-old body found in her Karachi apartment

Veteran Pakistani actress Ayesha Khan was found dead in her apartment in Karachi's Gulshan-e-Iqbal area. According to sources, her body is believed to have been lying there for seven days.

According to the police, they were informed by the deceased's neighbours after a foul smell began emanating from the apartment. Upon arrival, the police found the actress dead and shifted the body to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities.

Subsequently, at the request of her family, the body was moved to the Edhi Foundation mortuary in Sohrab Goth for a post-mortem examination.

According to sources, Ayesha had been living alone in the apartment, as her children are settled abroad.

Final prayers will be held after the arrival of her children.

Ayesha Khan was born on August 22, 1948, in Karachi. She appeared in many classic PTV dramas and was a well-known face in Pakistan’s television industry.

She showcased her acting talent in PTV’s renowned dramas, including Afsana, Arosa, Family 93, and Mehndi. The news of her demise has deeply saddened both the artistic community and the millions of fans who found solace and entertainment in her performances.

Her artistic journey spanned several decades. She was among the few pioneering female actresses who began working during the early days of television in Pakistan. Ayesha Khan played vibrant roles in dramas that highlighted women's issues and themes of social change. She was considered a symbol of PTV’s golden era.
