“We were concerned about society's reaction:" Javeria, Adeel open up about their second marriage

Renowned actor Javeria Abbasi and her husband, Adeel Haider, opened up about their second marriage, revealing that while they were friends for two years, the decision to marry was somewhat difficult due to concerns about societal and family reactions.

The newlywed couple recently appeared in an interview, offering insights into their relationship and how their mutual affection developed.

Haider shared that when they first met, he did not recognise Javeria as an actress since he does not watch dramas. 

"I googled her for two days to find out who she was," he admitted.

He explained that after a few meetings, he grew fond of her, and their friendship blossomed as they continued to share details of their daily lives and other personal matters over two years.

When asked how they decided to marry in their 40s, both having been through previous marriages and having children, Javeria responded, “We were concerned about society, our children, and our family elders' reactions.”

However, the couple shared that their relationship was warmly accepted by everyone.

Javeria mentioned that people often reminded her of her responsibilities toward her daughter, which she diligently fulfilled. However, she noted that few considered her own happiness and loneliness after her daughter’s marriage.

Mr Haider also responded to the online criticism, stating that there were vulgar comments about their age on social media, while “for us, marriage signifies companionship and love.”

Javeria Abbasi expressed gratitude towards her husband for showering her with love and respect and praised her in-laws for embracing her wholeheartedly.

She announced her engagement on social media in May with a cryptic Instagram post. The actress later confirmed her second marriage by sharing pictures of her intimate nikah ceremony online.

Javeria Abbasi was first married to actor Shamoon Abbasi in 1997 and they parted ways after 12 years of marriage in 2009.
