Actress Zara Noor Abbas has expressed disappointment over the lack of tolerance towards toddlers in public spaces, sharing a recent unpleasant experience at a restaurant where she was shamed for her baby daughter making noise.
Taking to Instagram, Zara detailed an argument she had with fellow diners who appeared visibly annoyed when her daughter made sounds.
“The woman from that table stood up and gave me a dead stare, and I couldn’t understand what it was for. When my daughter screamed again, the man at the table made shushing sounds,” she wrote.
When Zara confronted them, she was told she should not have brought her daughter to the restaurant and was lectured on teaching manners to her child. Upon asking if they had children, they admitted they did not.

“I told them that having a toddler and taking them out is not ‘tricky,’ and that she wasn’t doing it on purpose. They replied that if the baby screams, I should leave the restaurant,” Zara shared.

Although the restaurant manager apologised, Zara lamented that no one stood up for her during the incident.

“The crowd was watching, but nobody spoke for me.”
Concluding with a strong message, Zara urged people, especially those without children, to understand that children will be present in public spaces and to learn coexistence instead of complaining or shaming mothers.
