British High Commissioner Jane Marriott called on Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq in Islamabad on Friday and expressed her country's solidarity with Pakistan amidst the ongoing floods.

On behalf of her country, the British High Commissioner announced three million pounds in emergency aid and additional humanitarian aid.

Ishaq Dar thanked Britain for its timely support and solidarity.The deputy prime minister appreciated the timely commitment and the UK’s understanding of the scale of devastation and urgent needs, and conveyed gratitude for the UK’s support in relief and recovery efforts.

Both sides also discussed bilateral relations, the importance of high-level exchanges, and recent regional and international developments.

Floodwaters from Punjab enter Sindh

Meanwhile, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a detailed report highlighting the devastating impact of floods across Punjab, with millions affected and relief operations underway.

According to the PDMA report, widespread flooding has affected 4,489 villages across Punjab, impacting more than 4.49 million people
