200 rare turtles smuggled from Thailand seized at Lahore airport

The Punjab Wildlife Department has achieved a significant milestone with the interception of 200 rare turtles that were being smuggled from Thailand through Lahore Airport.

This breakthrough came as a result of prompt action taken by authorities upon receiving a tip-off regarding the illicit activity.

The turtles, classified as rare and endangered species, were found individually packed in groups of 100, indicating a systematic attempt to conceal their transportation. Originating from Thailand, these precious creatures were intended for delivery in Pakistan before being intercepted by vigilant wildlife officials.
