29 injured in aerial firing across Karachi on New Year's Eve

As the New Year dawned across Pakistan, people took to the streets in large numbers to celebrate. The festivities were marked by spectacular fireworks displays, but incidents of aerial firing marred the celebrations in several areas.
In Karachi, Islamabad, and Rohri, aerial firing accompanied the celebrations and resulted in injuries. According to rescue sources, 29 people, including two women, sustained injuries from stray bullets during New Year's Eve celebrations in different areas of Karachi.
Rescue officials reported that three individuals were injured in Liaquatabad, while one person was hurt near Gulshan-e-Iqbal Chowrangi.
Similarly, two people, including a woman, were injured in Shah Faisal Colony and Orangi Town due to celebratory gunfire.
In response to the incidents, Karachi Police launched a crackdown on aerial firing and arrested 30 individuals involved in the illegal act.
Law enforcement authorities had previously issued warnings to the public, stating that those caught firing celebratory gunshots on New Year's Eve would face charges of attempted murder.
