The health of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) founder Altaf Hussain is showing signs of improvement after he was hospitalised in London due to a severe illness, according to senior party leaders.
Mustafa Azizabadi, a London-based MQM leader, said in a video message posted on social media platform X on Saturday that Hussain had undergone several medical tests and received blood transfusion.
“Altaf Hussain bhai’s health has greatly improved,” he said, adding that doctors are proceeding with treatment based on the latest test results.
Azizabadi also addressed rumours circulating online about the MQM founder’s condition, calling the spread of misinformation “upsetting.”

Earlier, it was reported that Hussain had been admitted to a hospital in London for ongoing treatment.
MQM Coordination Committee Deputy Convener Qasim Ali confirmed that a detailed medical examination had been conducted, and that doctors had recommended continued blood transfusions due to a decline in his blood count.
Despite concerns, party officials expressed optimism, with Azizabadi saying, “Hopefully it’s not something serious.”
The party has requested supporters to pray for Hussain’s health and refrain from spreading unverified information.
