The Sindh High Court has rejected a petition seeking the formation of a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to investigate the Mir Raza case.
In his written judgment, Justice Jaffer Raza said the investigating officer had assured the court that every possible effort would be made to complete the investigation.
The court observed that the investigating officer would use all available resources in accordance with the law. According to the investigating officer, assistance from other investigative agencies would also be sought if necessary.
The court directed that the investigation into the Mir Raza case be completed in an impartial, fair, and expeditious manner.
The court expressed deep sorrow and condolences to the petitioners but observed that feelings of sympathy could not override the position determined by law.
It further stated that the petitioner may use all legal remedies available to ensure a transparent and fair investigation.
Mir Raza’s family had filed the petition seeking the formation of a JIT to investigate the case.
