KARACHI: Authorities have constituted a medical board to oversee the exhumation of businessman Mir Raza Ali, whose death in Karachi's Gulistan-e-Jauhar area is under investigation.

According to officials, the exhumation is scheduled to take place at 9:00 a.m. on Friday.

The medical board includes Professor Dr Naseem Ahmed, Head of the Department of Pathology at Dow Medical College; Dr Farah Waseem, Assistant Professor of Forensic Medicine at Sindh Medical College; Aamir Hassan Khan, a forensic identification expert from the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC); Dr Shree Chand, Additional Police Surgeon; Dr Kamran Khan, Medico-Legal Officer at Jinnah Hospital; Dr Daniyal Mirza, Medico-Legal Officer at Jinnah Hospital; Dr Muhammad Yaseen, Administrative In-charge of the Police Surgeon Office; and Police Surgeon Dr Summiya.

The medical board will supervise the exhumation and conduct the necessary medico-legal procedures as part of the ongoing investigation into Mir Raza Ali's death.

Meanwhile, Jibran Nasir, the lawyer of the deceased entrepreneur, has alleged that "undue" pressure is being used to remove Dr Summiya.

"🚨ALARMING🚨 We've learnt from credible sources that undue pressure is being applied to change members of the board including removing Police Surgeon Karachi," he wrote on X. "Our Application in Court specifically prayed for Pol Surgeon Khi to head the board and Court allowed application as is."
