Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti has announced that the provincial government will bear the medical expenses of the widow of Ali Murtaza, who was killed in a terrorist attack in Balochistan, and will also cover the educational costs of his daughters until they complete 16 years of schooling.
A young man from Karachi was shot dead after unidentified armed men opened fire on his car that had lost its way in the Dasht area of Kech District.
The family was travelling to Quetta when they were allegedly misdirected by Google Maps and reached the remote area in Dasht.
The Chief Minister announced after visiting the family of the deceased to offer his condolences.
Speaking to the media, Mr Bugti described Ali Murtaza as "a martyr of Pakistan" and reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to supporting the bereaved family.
He also rejected claims that parts of Balochistan were beyond the state's control, saying he had just returned from Awaran and that there were no "no-go areas" in the province.
"There is not a single inch of territory where the writ of the state does not prevail," he said, while acknowledging that security forces continue to face operational challenges.
He added that terrorists cannot be identified simply by appearance and warned that promoting negative narratives within the country only serves to strengthen terrorist elements.
