Bilawal Bhutto criticizes federal govt for VPN shutdown, slow internet speed

Pakistan People's Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has criticized the federal government for shutting down VPN services and reducing internet speed.
While speaking to the media, Bilawal stated, “We were not consulted about the reduction of internet speed and the closure of VPN services.”
He asserted that those making decisions lack basic knowledge about VPNs. Bilawal mentioned that if the government had sought input on the VPN issue, it ought to clarify the new regulations.
He remarked, “This is an era of internet speed; the government claimed it was providing 4G to the public, but the internet speed is unreliable, resembling more of a 3G service. Additionally, he indicated that the internet speed has now been further reduced.
The virtual private networks (VPNs) in Pakistan on Sunday were disrupted as the governemnt reportedly 'tested' blockage of VPNs services for six hours, according to Geo News.
VPNs are used to access the world content that may not be accessible in the country. In Pakistan case VPN is being used to access X, as the social media platform was banned across the country since February.
