Pakistani aviation authorities decided to export pilots to the international airlines to provide expert cockpit crew services amid the shortage of aviators in the region.

The decision was taken due to the increasing regional demand for aviation, with international companies showing interest in collaborating with Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

CAA's Director General Nadir Shafi Dar confirmed the initiative, highlighting the growing demand for pilots in the region. The CAA has already taken steps to address this issue.

Dar explained that the country was focusing on increasing the number of pilots at the domestic level and the surplus will be offered to foreign airlines.

Following the announcement, international airlines expressed interest in partnering with the CAA. Two companies have already initiated talks to provide ground training for pilots under this project.

After completing ground training, the pilots were sent to Sharjah for flight training on aircraft. So far, eight trained pilots have begun working with private airlines in Pakistan.

Moreover, agreements have been secured with training companies to facilitate pilot development, from initial training to achieving commercial cockpit positions.

Dar also expressed the intentions to establish academies in Pakistan with the financial assistance of local clubs. These clubs are being encouraged to expand their contributions to the growth of the country’s aviation sector.
