An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Tuesday granted a five-day physical remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan in connection with the September 28 vandalism case.

The hearing took place at Adiala Jail, where the ATC judge listened to arguments presented by Imran Khan’s lawyer, Barrister Salman Safdar, and Special Public Prosecutor Zaheer Shah.

The prosecutor requested a 15-day physical remand, alleging that despite the imposition of Section 144, protesters attacked government property on Imran Khan's call.

He further claimed that Khan orchestrated the September 28 protest from Adiala Jail.

Countering the claim, Salman Safdar argued that Imran Khan has been in solitary confinement at Adiala Jail for the past 1.5 years, making it impossible for him to plan such an event.

Salman Safdar described the case as a political vendetta based on assumptions rather than evidence.

After hearing both sides, the court rejected the request for a 15-day remand and instead granted a five-day physical remand.

The ATC directed that Imran Khan be interrogated within the jail premises and ordered his production in court on November 26.

Imran Khan is accused of inciting protests in Rawalpindi on September 28 and was arrested following his bail in the Toshakhana II case.
